Central Indiana anticipates 500\,000+ visitors to view the eclipse. \nBe Prepared \n\nWith anticipated additional traffic\, motorists should travel with emergency preparedness in mind. Locations that have experienced a total solar eclipse previously experienced heavy\, often standstill\, traffic.\nBecause of anticipated video streaming\, social media usage\, and calls in a relatively small\, concentrated area\, those in the path of totality should anticipate loss in communications or poor service.\nFollow City of Fishers social media channels for up-to-date info up to and on the day of the eclipse and visit ThisisFishers.com/Eclipse for more info.\n\nPublic Safety \n\nFire and Police will be stationed throughout the city in various locations to alleviate travel distances for emergency response in the event of heavy traffic.\nFishers Parks will be open to pedestrian traffic only to encourage residents to visit neighborhoods or local parks instead of adding vehicles to roadways. The 70-acre waterfront park in east Fishers features beach and water access to Geist Reservoir\, non-motorized boat launch and dock access for kayaks and canoes\, walking trails\, playground\, and public gathering amenities.   Park access is open to all during non-peak hours. During peak hours (generally Friday\, Saturday\, and Sunday afternoons)\, admission is free for Fishers residents and $25 per vehicle for non-residents. It’s now easier than ever for residents to access the park – just show your government-issued ID at the entrance\, no Smart Pass needed! Geist Waterfront Park is open daily dawn to dusk and a lifeguard is on duty 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. during swim season. Swim season runs from May 25 through September 2.
