SUMMARY:Make48 Nationals Competition
DESCRIPTION:Make48 is a 48-hour competition where teams are presented with a challenge and tasked to build a physical prototype\, create a sales sheet\, produce a 1-minute marketing video and pitch their big idea to a panel of judges. \nThe Maker Playground features several zones throughout the space for you to tinker and create\, including a community workshop\, wood shop\, 3D printing space\, metal shop\, CNC router\, laser cutters\, and more. It offers several community programs and classes from an after-school STEM club to DIY classes and construction training.   \nIn November 2025\, Fishers Maker Playground will host Season 9 Nationals where six teams who placed top two at their respective Make48 regional competitions earlier this year will go head to head. With access to expert tool technicians and high-tech equipment\, competing teams have the power to build almost anything. \nFor this challenge\, collaboration is the key to success. Many people have big ideas but few possess the resources to develop a prototype that turns them into reality. To build anything\, different skills\, materials and equipment must work together to create a final product. Make48 allows this process to be achieved with a fun\, fast-paced\, and educational event. First place team will win $10\,000!

DESCRIPTION:International Survivors of Suicide Loss Day is an event in which survivors of suicide loss come together to find connection\, understanding\, and hope through their shared experience. This year\, International Survivors of Suicide Loss Day is Saturday\, November 22\, 2025. \nThe Fishers Health Department is hosting one of 17 of these events in the state of Indiana. \nAfter a few speakers\, please take part in our Mosaic Memorial. Mosaic Memorial is an art-based\, community initiative designed to raise awareness about suicide and honor loved ones who have died this way.  Participants will create hand-folded origami boxes\, which they can decorate to commemorate those who have taken their life.  Each box will become a personal tribute\, collectively representing those who have lost their lives to suicide in a visually powerful way. Participants will be encouraged to make two Mosaic Memorial boxes\, one to leave and add to the community art project and one to take with them in memory of their loved one.
