Investing in a Healthier, More Connected Community

As part of the City of Fishers’ ongoing Culture of Health initiative, several new recreational amenities and enhancements have launched across the community.

These projects are designed to encourage residents to get active, explore nature, and connect with one another—all while promoting wellness and healthy living as part of everyday life.

New & Upcoming Amenities

Bell Ford Bridge & Geist Greenway

The newly restored historic Bell Ford Bridge connects the Geist Greenway to Hamilton County’s Geist Park, creating a safe and scenic pedestrian crossing over Fall Creek and strengthening the city’s 5-mile trail network.

Nickel Plate Trail, Strengthened by IU Health

Fishers’ downtown portion of the trail continues to thrive as a community hub with additions like a dynamic mural in the 116th Street tunnel, new gathering spaces, and seasonal pop-up events—all designed to encourage walking, biking, and connection.

A pedestrian bridge across 96th Street offers access to the Indianapolis portion of the trail.

Geist Half Race Series

The Geist Half Race Series features a half-marathon, 10K, and 5K along scenic Geist Reservoir. All participants receive a shirt, medal, and drink ticket for the post-race party. Open to all ages and abilities.

106 Plaza

The 106 Plaza at 106th Street and the Nickel Plate Trail, Strengthened by IU Health, extends onto the Hub & Spoke property, also home to the Fishers Parks headquarters and Fishers Maker Playground, and features a multi-use space for community gatherings and recreation with a courtyard with public seating and tables, a large communal fire pit, an open green lawn, swings, and improved trail accessibility.

Delaware Township Nickel Plate Trail Expansion

As part of its continued investment in community amenities, Delaware Township is developing a new pocket park along the Nickel Plate Trail.

Expanding Parks & Wellness Resources

Fishers AgriPark Barn Expansion

Now open, the new barn with indoor restrooms and programming space at the AgriPark supports expanded agricultural programs, seasonal events, and hands-on learning. A new country store featuring locally sourced goods opens in 2026.

Fishers White River Park

This 120-acre parkfeature over 5,000 feet of riverfront along with trail connections and natural gathering spaces, revitalizing the 96th & Allisonville corridor.

Fitness Court® at Brooks School Park

Enjoy a free, full-body outdoor workout at this seven-station court. Accessible to ages 14+ and integrated with a mobile app, this innovative space also features artwork by local artists, the Wilkinson Brothers.

Fishers Community Center, Strengthened by IU Health

The Fishers Community Center offers a fitness center, aquatics area with NinjaCross system, group fitness rooms, sports courts, a dog park, and more.
