In January of 2026, we partnered with National Citizens Survey to learn what our city is doing well and how we can continue to do better.
The National Community Survey report is about the livability of Fishers. A livable community is a place that is not simply habitable, but that is desirable. The NCS was developed by the experts from the National Research Center at Polco in partnership with the International City/County Management Association (ICMA) and has been administered in hundreds of communities across the United States.
The survey asked residents about their perspectives on the following:
- Economy
- Mobility
- Community Design
- Utilities
- Safety
- Natural Environment
- Parks and Recreation
- Health and Wellness
- Education, Arts, and Culture
- Community Connection
The results provides the opinions of a representative sample of 2,930 residents of the city of Fishers collected from January 19-February 23, 2026. The margin of error around any reported percentage is 1.8% for all respondents. Survey results were weighted so that the demographic profile of respondents was representative of the demographic profile of adults in Fishers. For reporting purposes, the City considered ratings “fair” to “excellent” as positive ratings.
