Fishers Community Comes Together for Annual Habitat for Humanity Panel Build

The City of Fishers will once again partner with Greater Indy Habitat for Humanity for the annual Fishers Community Panel Build on Friday, October 2 at Holland Park (1 Park Drive, Fishers). This is the City’s fourth year partnership with Habitat on this build.

Nearly 100 volunteers and local partners will work together to build the interior and exterior wall panels for a future Habitat home, helping create an affordable homeownership opportunity for a family in the Greater Indianapolis area.

“This event shows what can happen when our community comes together around a shared purpose,” said Mayor Scott Fadness. “Through our partnership with Greater Indy Habitat for Humanity and the support of local businesses and volunteers, we’re helping create an opportunity for a family to build a more stable future while strengthening connections across our community.”

The morning will include a board-cutting ceremony featuring Mayor Fadness and community partners at 10:30 a.m.

“Affordable homeownership strengthens families and helps build more vibrant, connected communities,” said Jim Morris, Greater Indy Habitat for Humanity President & CEO. “The Fishers panel build is a powerful example of what can happen when residents, businesses, and local leaders come together to improve the lives of others. The support of the City of Fishers and its sponsors not only raises awareness of the need for affordable homeownership, but also creates a meaningful opportunity for the community to be part of a solution that changes lives.”

The panel build is part of Habitat for Humanity’s mission to build strength, stability and independence through homeownership. Volunteers work in teams to assemble individual wall panels before the completed panels are brought together to show the layout of the future home.

This year’s event is made possible through the support of CRG Residential, Fishers Freight, GBC Bank, Indy Fuel, Indy Ignite, Inherent, Meyer Najem Carrington Homes, Republic Services, Main Event Merchandise Group, BJ’s Wholesale Group, and White’s Ace Hardware and Garden Center, whose contributions and volunteers help make the build possible.
