We all know the popular spots in Fishers: 1933 Lounge for date nights, Handel’s for ice cream, and The Well for coffee. But what about the hidden gems? Skyler from Fishers Digest has researched and went to five lowkey spots you might not have tried yet. Each restaurant on this list has an A rating from the Fishers Health Department, so you can feel good eating at any of them!
Publisher’s Note: No restaurants paid to be on this list. Nor did they know we were making this. I compiled it after hours of eating quality food. It was the worst (kidding)!
Albasha
Albasha is not your typical restaurant. It’s four things at once: Halal meat market, grocery store, bakery, and restaurant — and it’s amazing. They serve Middle Eastern street food classics like falafel, pita, kebobs, and grilled chicken. I opted for the half chicken (pictured) because it was recommended, and three other people there were also eating it. Although it’s a smaller space with only a few tables, it’s comfortable. And I can’t recommend this one enough. If you’re craving something different this should be the first place on your list.
And make sure you grab some Baklava from the grocery store on your way out.

Chick Magnet
Chick Magnet uses a vintage 1930s recipe and method of cooking fried chicken. They’re an official licensee of the “Chicken in the Rough” brand, which aims to help independent operators like Chick Magnet serve good-tasting chicken. They recommend you try the chicken without sauce before dipping… and I agree. It’s what you hope for when you order fried chicken:
- Well seasoned
- Juicy, not overcooked
- Crispy carriage
Go here if you get menu paralysis; what you see pictured is ¾ of their menu 😂

I Tre Mori
Anything local that’s not a chain or on Dave Portnoy’s One Bite Pizza App is lowkey. I’ll debate it.
Our household does the Margherita test. If that pizza is good, you can safely assume everything else is good. It passed. The Pizza Picantitssima was our favorite.
I’m mostly confident that this is the best pizza you can get in a Fishers zip code. I envy any of you close to the Nickel Plate Trail and able to walk or quickly get there. It’s wood-fired, cooked exactly how a pizza should be: in an imported Italian oven 🔥
They even have a drive-through, so take advantage of that if you order for pickup. Order their pizza here.

The Food Florist
The Food Florist is also a bit different in that you don’t go there and sit down to eat. You pick it up and bring it home to heat. Everything is delivered frozen but made fresh.
It looks, tastes, and contains ingredients an average person would use. The ingredients for everything are on the package, and there was nothing I couldn’t pronounce without having a degree 🤓
We’ve had multiple things from here, but the quadberry crumb pie is a must. Make sure you pick up some ice cream from Handel’s on the way home to go with it.
Location: 11850 Allisonville Rd.
Cheeky Bastards
Please let some of their recent reviews guide you on how good this place is:
> “Drove 4 hours from STL just to check it out, absolutely worth the drive, owners/staff were extremely kind and appreciative of us driving so far just to see them.”
> “I was also lucky enough to get to try the Sheppards Pie.”
> “5 stars is not enough for this place.”
It’s a British Pub with the obvious choice being the Fish and Chips. And it’s the right move. They’re open for breakfast, lunch, afternoon tea, and dinner — so there’s really no perfect time to go other than when you’re ready.
