Meet Fishers Community Center Membership Manager: Jen Mealy

Exciting things are happening with the Fishers Community Center, opening in November 2025 Fishers’ newest health and wellness destination will serve as a hub for health, wellness, and community with a dog park, indoor playground, walking track, aquatics center, and much more. The center will also be home to the Fishers Health Department, Sahm’s Community Café, and Outside the Box’s adult day program, fostering connection and inclusivity in the community.

We sat down with Membership Manager, Jen Mealy, to see how she’s preparing for the opening this fall.

What is your role and responsibilities within the Community Center?

I am the Membership Manager for the Community Center. Once we open this fall, I will be responsible, along with my team, for helping our members get connected and feel welcome at the Community Center.

What inspired you to get involved with the Community Center?

I was really excited to be involved in something new for the community that I know will change a lot of lives. Looking around the Fishers’ community, everything they do, they do with a lot of excellence. Whether it’s parks, schools, events, or city planning, there’s a strong commitment not just to serving the community, but to exceeding expectations. I wanted to be associated with something that I knew was going to have a huge impact. Every aspect of the Community Center’s planning has been shaped by community feedback, ensuring we’re not only delivering what residents asked for but elevating the experience beyond what they imagined. Our goal is to create a place that feels truly special—where people feel connected, inspired, and excited to return. I spent nine years working with the YMCA before Fishers. I saw firsthand how a strong, supportive community can empower individuals to grow, and that’s exactly what I hope to foster at the Fishers Community Center.

What are you most excited about doing through your role at the Community Center?

I really thrive on connecting with people, so I am excited that when we open our doors and our members are there, we get to meet them and build relationships. Personally, I teach group exercise classes as well, so I am looking forward to interacting with our members while teaching classes.

What feature in the Community Center are you most excited for?

I am very excited about the Ninja Cross system and our pool! I am super competitive, so I am looking forward to crushing my family on the Ninja Cross course.

What do you think the Community Center will bring to Fishers?

I think this Community Center is going to have a huge impact on Fishers because it is accessible for everyone, no matter their age or their physical capabilities. I love that we will have opportunities for people to be active all year round!

How can residents stay connected with the Community Center and any updates?

You can stay connected and learn more by following us on our social media channels, and also our website www.fisherscommunitycenter.com, where you can sign up for memberships and updates.

While Jen might not be a Fishers resident, she definitely loves this city! Her favorite restaurants to grab a quick lunch at are Sweet Green and Bibibop, but her special treat would have to be HC Tavern or 101 Beer Kitchen. To get outside, Jen loves kayaking and thinks Geist Waterfront Park is one of the best places to enjoy the sunshine. She frequents local coffee shops like MOTW, Java House, The Well, and Niyyah, while making sure to stop by the Farmers Market on Saturday mornings!
