This year’s list evaluated more than 850 of the country’s top cities based on how well they meet consumers’ living expectations, with measures including value, job market, desirability and quality of life.
The four measures factored into this year’s ranking were weighted in part based on a public survey of thousands of individuals throughout the U.S. to find out what qualities they consider important in a place to live. The methodology also factors in data from a variety of government, private-sector, and U.S. News internal resources.
The ranking follows the release of the 2026 Fishers Community Survey results which showed high marks across all aspects of residents’ experiences living, working, and learning in Fishers with 99 percent of residents positively ranking Fishers’ quality of life.
