Mayor Scott Fadness today announced the launch of the Mayor’s Youth Service Awards program, a new initiative designed to encourage junior high and high school students to give back to the Fishers community through volunteerism and civic engagement.
The Mayor’s Youth Service Awards recognize students who dedicate their time to serving others through qualified nonprofits and approved community partners, including local service organizations, schools, and neighborhood programs. Eligible students must be Fishers residents enrolled in a public, private or home school program. Volunteer hours may be accrued beginning at age 13 through high school graduation.

Students will be recognized at various levels based on the number of volunteer hours completed:
- Bronze (50–99 hours): Certificate of Civic Leadership
- Silver (100–149 hours): Certificate of Civic Leadership and lapel pin
- Gold (150–199 hours): Certificate of Civic Leadership, lapel pin, and graduation cord
- Platinum (200–299 hours): Certificate of Civic Leadership, lapel pin, graduation cord, and a letter of commendation from Mayor Scott Fadness
- Diamond (300+ hours): Certificate of Civic Leadership, lapel pin, graduation cord, letter of commendation, recognition on the City’s social media account(s), and breakfast with Mayor Scott Fadness
Students can register for the program by visiting FishersIN.gov/MYSA and creating an account through Volunteer Fishers. Students already registered with Volunteer Fishers can transfer previously completed volunteer hours toward the award.

Volunteers assist with planting, watering, weeding, tending livestock and helping visitors with produce picking and questions. Multiple shifts begin in May.

Volunteers support one of Fishers’ most popular family events with roles in setup, event operations, and teardown.

Multiple volunteer roles are available at this beloved summer festival, including vendor support, event setup, shuttle stop monitors, and more.
Friday, September 11 and Saturday, September 12 | Olio Road Bridge at Geist Reservoir
Volunteer roles include packet pickup, course support, parking assistance, and start/finish line operations, including distributing medals, water, and snacks.
