Road Notice Updates for the Week of April 14

While this list encompasses numerous closures in Fishers, it does not list all DPW projects throughout the city.
All construction activities are weather permitting and could change.
Plan for extra travel time in construction zones and drive distraction free.

Projects North of 116th Street

136th Street Widening – ROAD CLOSURE

Beginning on Tuesday, April 1, 136^th Street between Prairie Baptist Road and Cyntheanne Road will be closed to through traffic as construction begins on the reconstruction of the roadway. Access to all of the homes and fire station off of 136^th Street will be maintained only to eastbound traffic. Westbound traffic will need to follow the attached detour route. Access into Hunters Run and Silverton will be off of Prairie Baptist or Cyntheanne Road. See a map of this closure here.

121st Street and Hoosier Road – Future Roundabout

Drivers can expect to see more construction activity at this intersection as the contractor works on utility relocation – keep an eye out for periodic lane restrictions Monday – Friday 9am – 3PM.

131st and Howe Rd – Future Roundabout

Same as above, drivers can expect to see more construction activity at this intersection as the contractor works on utility relocation – keep an eye out for periodic lane restrictions Monday – Friday 9am – 3PM.

Phase Shift – 146th Street & Allisonville Road – Hamilton County Project

Please use extreme caution and follow the 35mph posted speed limit when traveling through the work zone. Left turns are prohibited in all directions at the intersection. Please see the included intersection diagram for the movements that are allowed. Periodic lane closures and intermittent stoppages may be necessary to complete certain work items. Please watch for flaggers and workers in and around the construction zone. The next traffic phasing switch is anticipated to occur in December.

Bridge crews are continuing work on the widening of the eastbound bridge over the White River. The contractor is continuing to work on storm sewer installation, subgrade preparation, and paving operations. Bridge and MSE wall construction at the intersection is ongoing between the eastbound and westbound travel lanes. The contractor is working on the roundabout construction and installing barrier wall within the construction zone. The contractor anticipates working on seeding and sodding in the coming weeks. Construction vehicles will be entering and exiting from this work area, so please be vigilant and follow the 35mph posted speed limit when driving through the construction zone.

Anticipated Completion Date: August 1, 2025

State Road 37 Improvement Project

State Road 37 and 141st Street

LANE CLOSURE UPDATE

As of Monday (3/10), the contractor has begun reconstruction and interchange tie in on the west side of 141st street. To do this work as quickly as possible, this will require 141st St. to be closed on the west side. The closure will be in place from SR37 thru and west of Trade Center Dr. This work will involve new curbs, medians, storm sewer, subgrade treatment and pavement. See business access map here.

The westside of 141st St. at SR37 is currently closed for the next phase of construction. Traffic has transitioned to the eastside, with SR37 north and southbound lanes remaining open. Projects South of 116th Street

96th Street and The Nickel Plate Trail

Please look out for intermittant lane restrictions (east and west bound) between Hague road and the entrance to Menards between 9am and 3PM, proceed through the area with caution.

96th Street and Allisonville Road Intersection

The 96th & Allisonville roundabout is now open and accessible in all directions, making travel smoother and safer at one of the main gateways to our City. Please proceed with caution as this is still an active construction site. Be on the look out for intermittant lane restrictions.

Nickel Plate Trail and 82nd Street Closure – INDIANAPOLIS PROJECT

Starting April 7, a closure will be placed on 82nd Street between Craig Street and Castleton Road for Nickel Plate Trail construction. The closure is anticipated to be in place until April 15. Businesses in the area will remain accessible to the public. See detour map here.

Heritage Park Bridge – Trail Closure

The City of Fishers has partnered with the City of Carmel, Clay Township, Carmel Clay Parks and Recreation , Hamilton County, and Delaware Township to connect Heritage Park at White River and Carmel’s Hazel Landing Park with a bridge over White River. This new amenity will provide enhanced connectivity between the two communities, as well as new recreational opportunities for our residents. Click here for an aerial view. Construction is expected to occur Monday through Saturday beginning at 7 a.m. The bridge is expected to be complete in August 2025.

Clear Path Improvement Project

I-465 & I-69

Drivers will see an increase in construction along the I-69 corridor in the coming months. This work will focus on reconfiguring the interchange at I-465 and I-69. New ramps will provide direct movements from eastbound I-465 and northbound I-465 to northbound I-69. Binford Blvd. will also be reconstructed to separate local traffic from traffic entering and exiting I-69 and I-465. Access to I-69 from Binford Blvd. will remain open.
