All work is weather-dependent and subject to change. This update highlights major closures and traffic impacts, but may not include every Department of Public Works project.

116th & Allisonville Road Intersection Improvements Project

The 116th and Allisonville Road intersection has been reduced to one lane in each direction. Final barricades, signage and signal adjustments are currently being placed. Long delays are expected. Seek an alternate route if possible.

🚧96th Street & Cyntheanne Road – CLOSURE IN PLACE

Construction of the new roundabout at 96th Street and Cyntheanne Road has begun and a full closure is in place at this roundabout.

What Drivers Should Expect

  • Full intersection closure to through traffic
  • Signed detour routes around the intersection
  • Local access maintained for nearby properties
  • Additional travel time in the area

🚧 136th Street Widening – Phase 2 Traffic Shift Starts June 2

The 136th Street Widening Project has shifted into Phase 2 with a closure in place between Southeastern Parkway and Prairie Baptist Road.

Traffic Changes

  • Through-traffic closures within project limits
  • New traffic patterns and detour routes
  • Continued access for nearby neighborhoods
  • Increased construction activity throughout the corridor

Project Improvements Include

  • Raised medians
  • Multi-use paths
  • New pavement and curb improvements
  • Storm sewer upgrades

116th Street & Allisonville Road

Lane restrictions continue as crews begin intersection improvements, ADA ramp upgrades, sidewalk replacement, and traffic signal work.

Cumberland Road Utility Work

Lane restrictions continue between 106th Street and 116th Street from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

From June 8-19 Lantern road will be closed at Morgan Drive, detour signs will be posted for drivers. Please seek an alternate route.

Neighborhood Resurfacing – Rosewood

Concrete curb and ADA ramp work continues this week, weather permitting. Milling and resurfacing operations will follow.

Concrete operations on Harrison Parkway (Weaver Woods North) following Rosewood.

Upcoming Road Improvements at 116th Street & Allisonville Road


What’s Happening

The City of Fishers is improving the intersection of 116th Street and Allisonville Road to enhance traffic flow and safety.

While the project was originally planned as a roundabout, additional analysis showed the improvements could be achieved through less invasive roadway changes. Construction is expected to continue through October 2026, weather and material availability permitting.

What to Expect

  • Improved left-turn lanes
  • Sidewalk and ADA ramp replacement
  • Traffic signal upgrades
  • Business access maintained throughout construction
  • Lane shifts, restrictions, and slower travel times, especially during peak hours

Initial work includes construction signage and signal-related activity, followed by intersection improvements, curb and ramp work, sidewalk work, and paving later in the season.

Southeastern Parkway & Olio Road Roundabout Improvements


Utility work is currently underway near Southeastern Parkway and Olio Road ahead of planned roundabout improvements.

Drivers should expect to see increased construction activity in the area as crews continue utility coordination and early project work. There are no lane restrictions at this time, but the City will alert the public before any traffic shifts, lane restrictions, or closures go into effect.

🎉 Community Event


Touch-A-Truck Rescheduled for June 8

Fishers’ annual Touch-A-Truck event returns to the Nickel Plate District Amphitheater from 4 to 7 p.m.

Temporary road closures and parking impacts are expected near Municipal Drive during the event.

🛠Utility Work🛠


Brightspeed Fiber Installation

Brightspeed will be installing fiber throughout Avalon of Fishers this week.

Work will be conducted in utility easements behind the sidewalk.

State Road 37 Improvement Project


State Road 37 and 141st Street

The State Road 37 Improvement Project at 141st Street is now substantially complete, and the City celebrated the official ribbon cutting for the new interchange on May 26.

Motorists should expect periodic lane restrictions and intermittent work activity throughout the corridor as contractors complete final punch-list items and remaining project details, including landscaping and minor finishing work.

Drivers are encouraged to continue using caution in the area while crews complete these final activities.

136th Street Widening – ROAD CLOSURE


🚧 136th Street Widening Project Update 🚧

The 136th Street Widening Project has transitioned into Phase 2 This next phase will focus on improvements between Southeastern Parkway and Prairie Baptist Road.

As construction progresses, 136th Street will be closed to through traffic within the project limits. Drivers should follow the signed detour route using Southeastern Parkway and Prairie Baptist Road to reconnect with 136th Street.

This major improvement project will transform 136th Street from a rural two-lane roadway into a modern boulevard featuring:
• Raised medians
• New multi-use paths on both sides of the road
• New pavement, curb & gutter
• Storm sewer infrastructure upgrades

Motorists should expect changing traffic patterns and additional travel time in the area. Please drive cautiously and stay alert near work zones.

🚗 Regional Construction🛣️


The following projects are managed by partner agencies and may impact Fishers-area drivers.

PERIODIC LANE RESTRICTIONS– 146th Street and Allisonville Road

Hamilton, Indiana – Please be advised, beginning on or after, Monday, June 1,2026, drivers should expect periodic lane restrictions for median landscaping / final miscellaneous work for the next upcoming weeks.

Drivers should expect increased construction traffic in the work zone. When driving through the construction zone, drivers are encouraged to be vigilant and watch for flaggers.

Please use extreme caution and follow the posted work zone speed limit while driving through this construction zone.

EAST CARMEL PEDESTRIAN SAFETY IMPROVEMENTS: April 1 – early August
As of April 1, extensive work has begun on the east side of Carmel to install raised pedestrian crosswalks within several roundabouts along Hazel Dell Parkway and Gray Road. 

Phase 1 (30-day closure)

All raised pedestrian crosswalk installations are set for completion in September, reinforcing Carmel’s ongoing commitment to student and neighborhood safety.
