Road Notice Updates for the Week of July 28

  • *All construction activities are weather permitting and could change.*
  • While this list encompasses numerous closures in Fishers, it does not list all DPW projects throughout the city.
  • Plan for extra travel time in construction zones and drive distraction free.

Brightspeed Fiber Installation

Brightspeed will be installing fiber throughout the following areas: South Avalon Estates, Knoll at Thorpe Creek, Overlook at Thorpe Creek, Woods at Thorpe Creek, and Geist Overlook this week. Work will be conducted in the utility easement behind the sidewalk.

Public Works Road Repair – Lane Restrictions

Crews will be working on the Eastbound lane of 141st Street just west of the Cumberland Rd. Roundababout. Work will take place on Monday July 28 and Tuesday the 29th. Expect to see drivers on site directing traffic, all directions will remain open. 

Projects North of 116th Street

136th Street Widening – ROAD CLOSURE

As of Tuesday, April 1, 136th Street between Prairie Baptist Road and Cyntheanne Road has been closed to through traffic as construction continues on the reconstruction of the roadway.  Access to the homes and Fire Station #97 will be maintained only to eastbound traffic.  Westbound traffic will need to follow the signed detour route.  Access into Hunters Run and Silverton is off of Prairie Baptist Road or Cyntheanne Road.  Please drive with caution through the work zone. 121st Street and Hoosier Road – Future Roundabout

A full closure is in place at 121st and Hoosier Road for the construction of a roundabout, this will be a 60 day closure. The detour route is 126th Street, Cumberland Road, 116th Street, see map here.

131st Street and Howe Road – Future Roundabout

A full closure is in place at 131st and Howe for the construction of a roundabout, this will be a 60 day closure. The detour route is Cumberland Road, 141st street, and Promise Road, see map here.

146th Street & Allisonville Road – Hamilton County Project 

Hamilton County, Indiana – Please be advised, beginning on or after Wednesday, July 23,2025, between the hours of 9AM to 3PM, drivers should expect intermittent ramp closures and additional traffic restrictions around the roundabout for asphalt paving and concrete curb construction. The intermittent closures and restrictions are expected to occur daily through August 15, 2025. Additional information identifying movement restrictions will be provided in future press releases as daily work plans are formalized. 

Please use extreme caution and follow the posted work zone speed limit while driving through this construction zone.

Olio Road Lane Restrictions between Geist Reservoir Bridge and 126th Street – Hamilton County Project

Hamilton County, Indiana – Please be advised, drivers should expect intermittent lane closures for paving operations.  The lane closures will take place on Olio Road between Geist Reservoir bridge to 126th Street.  This work will continue into the week of July 28.  Please use extreme caution while driving through this construction zone.

Projects South of 116th Street

96th Street Lane Restrictions

As of June 6th, drivers can expect lane restrictions as the contractor has closed the inside lanes for both eastbound and westbound traffic for work on the construction of the Nickel Plate Trail Bridge. There will be one lane for westbound traffic and two lanes for eastbound traffic between Masters Road and Hague Road. Drivers should watch for intermittant lane restrictions.

Drivers can expect overnight lane closures on all lanes of 96th street, between Masters Road and Hague Road, on August 4th and 5th between 8pm and 6am.

Trail Construction

On the week of July 28 the contractor will continue grading and clearing right-of-way along 106th Street from Hamilton Pass to Mollenkopf Road.

Drivers on 106th Street between Cumberland Road and Fall Road should expect lane restrictions from 9 AM to 3 PM due to ongoing trail construction. Please plan for potential delays and exercise caution in this area.

Crews plan to begin bridge abutment work on the week of July 28 along Hoosier Road, from just north of Blue Meadow Drive to 121st Street. Updates on construction timelines will follow as the contractor refines their schedule. All schedules are weather dependent.

Road Resurface Project

On Saturday, July 26 the contractor will be working on the northwest corner of Commercial Drive and North Street – the westbound lane of North Street, at Commercial Drive will be closed to traffic. Expect lane closures on Eastbound North Street beginning Monday, July 28 between the hours of 9am and 3pm.

Beginning on, or after July 28 the contractor will be working on the following:

  • The contractor will complete paving operations on the Lantern Road and 106th street roundabout on Tuesday, July 29.
  • Base repair operations will begin at Cumberland Road, followed by Hoosier Road, then over to Sawgrass all followed by asphalt operations in that same order. Expect lane restrictions with flaggers from 9AM to 3PM.
  • Base repair operations on Cumberland Road, between the I69 bridge and 126th Street, with flaggers on site from 9am to 3pm. View map here.
  • Concrete operations in Sumerlin Trails. View map here.
  • Asphalt paving of parking stalls on Municipal Drive. Curb and ramp work will take place at the intersection of North and Maple Street as well as Lantern and North Street followed by median work later in the week. Drivers can expect periodic lane restrictions between 9am and 3pm as well as flaggers.
  • Additionally the contractor will be conducting concrete operations on Commercial Drive from the Nickel Plate Trail to 116th Street. Please expect lane closures and flaggers on site.
  • Our contractor will continue work in the Sunblest Neighborhood – ADA curb ramp work will take place on Ellipse Drive, Kemble Court, and Kenetta Court. View map here.

Homeowners will be notified via door hangers prior to any curb reconstruction near their home. After ADA ramp and curb reconstruction is completed, those areas will be restored with topsoil and seed. It is the responsibility of the homeowner to water the seed for the seed to germinate. Following concrete operations contractors will begin performing asphalt road resurfacing and additional notices will be provided. Residents will also be notified via street signage for street parking restrictions.

Heritage Park Bridge Trail Closure

The City of Fishers has partnered with the City of Carmel, Clay Township, Carmel Clay Parks and Recreation , Hamilton County, and Delaware Township to connect Heritage Park at White River and Carmel’s Hazel Landing Park with a bridge over White River. This new amenity will provide enhanced connectivity between the two communities, as well as new recreational opportunities for our residents. Click here for an aerial view. Construction is expected to occur Monday through Saturday beginning at 7 a.m.

Clear Path Improvement Project 

I-465 & I-69  

Drivers will see an increase in construction along the I-69 corridor in the coming months. This work will focus on reconfiguring the interchange at I-465 and I-69. New ramps will provide direct movements from eastbound I-465 and northbound I-465 to northbound I-69. Binford Blvd. will also be reconstructed to separate local traffic from traffic entering and exiting I-69 and I-465. Access to I-69 from Binford Blvd. will remain open.

Clear Path – 2025 Construction Guide

I-69 South – New Traffic Pattern

The eastbound I-465 ramp to Binford Boulevard is scheduled to close for up to 60 days beginning next Friday night, July 11, as part of the Clear Path 465 project on the northeast side of Indianapolis.  The closure will allow crews to reconstruct the ramp. In addition, lane and ramp closures are scheduled for the weekend of July 11 at the I-465/I-69 interchange for crews to restripe pavement and move concrete barrier wall on Binford Boulevard.

The following closures are scheduled: 

60 day closure starting Friday, July 11 at 9 p.m. 
Eastbound I-465 ramp to southbound Binford Boulevard closed 

Actual dates and anticipated work may be adjusted if inclement weather or other unforeseen circumstances occur. Drivers are encouraged to plan alternate routes and allow extra travel time during overnight hours.  

Safe Zones enforcement remains active in the Clear Path construction zone. The program uses automated systems to monitor speeds in specified work zones. The goal of the program is to keep workers, drivers, and their passengers safe by reducing excessive speeding and crashes in work zones.
