Road Notice Updates for the Week of July 13

All work is weather-dependent and subject to change. This update highlights major closures and traffic impacts, but may not include every Department of Public Works project.

🚧Major Closures and Detours 🚩

Public Works Construction – 126th Street

Beginning Monday, July 13, crews will perform concrete joint sawing and sealing on 126th Street between Parkside Drive and Promise Road.

Single-lane restrictions will be in place on both eastbound and westbound 126th Street from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. Traffic may be stopped for short periods while equipment enters and exits the lane closures and as crews work through intersections.

Work is expected to take up to 12 days and will occur Monday through Saturday, weather permitting. Motorists are encouraged to use caution and allow extra travel time through the area.

131st Street Road Closure

A road closure will be in place on 131st Street from July 13–17 for the installation of raised crosswalks.

The closure will be located on 131st Street between Sand Creek Elementary and Sand Creek Intermediate.

Drivers should plan ahead, follow posted signage, and use caution when traveling near the area. Access to the schools and nearby properties should follow posted detour and construction signage.

🚧96th Street & Cyntheanne Road – CLOSURE IN PLACE

Construction of the new roundabout at 96th Street and Cyntheanne Road has begun and a full closure is in place at this intersection.

What Drivers Should Expect

Full intersection closure to traffic
Signed detour routes around the intersection
Local access maintained for nearby properties
Additional travel time in the area

🚧 136th Street Widening – Southeastern Parkway and Prairie Baptist Road

Construction is underway on the Southeastern Parkway and Olio Road roundabout to improve safety and traffic flow at one of the region’s busiest intersections.

Currently, the roundabout remains open with no lane restrictions through early August. Olio Road is reduced to one lane southbound.

Beginning in early August, drivers should expect lane restrictions, including Olio Road reduced to one lane in each direction and closure of the “5th leg” of the roundabout.

Road Improvements at 116th Street & Allisonville Road

Project Update

Traffic is down to one lane in all directions, drivers should seek an alternate route. Concrete medians have been removed prior to reconfiguring of the medians.

What’s Happening

The City of Fishers is improving the intersection of 116th Street and Allisonville Road to enhance traffic flow and safety.

While the project was originally planned as a roundabout, additional analysis showed the improvements could be achieved through less invasive roadway changes. Construction is expected to continue through October 2026, weather and material availability permitting.

What to Expect

Improved left-turn lanes
Sidewalk and ADA ramp replacement
Traffic signal upgrades
Business access maintained throughout construction
Lane shifts, restrictions, and slower travel times, especially during peak hours

Initial work includes construction signage and signal-related activity, followed by intersection improvements, curb and ramp work, sidewalk work, and paving later in the season.

🚦 Utility Work 🚨

Cumberland Road Utility Work – Duke Project

Lane restrictions continue between 106th Street and 116th Street from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Brightspeed Fiber Installation

Brightspeed will be installing fiber throughout Avalon of Fishers this week. Work will be conducted in utility easements behind the sidewalk.

Allisonville Road Lane Restrictions

Drivers should expect temporary lane restrictions on southbound Allisonville Road for utility work.

111th Street

A separate southbound lane closure will be in place on Allisonville Road at 111th Street beginning Monday, July 13 at 6 p.m. through Tuesday, July 14 at 6 a.m. for a water valve replacement.

Traffic will remain open during this work, but drivers should expect short-term delays and use caution when traveling through the area.

🚧 Project Updates

Neighborhood Resurfacing

Road resurfacing work continues throughout Fishers, with crews currently completing concrete operations in Harrison Parkway and East of Harrison Parkway. Concrete work is also ongoing in the Weaver Woods, Weaver Woods North and Weaver Creek neighborhoods ahead of paving operations.

Milling and paving operations are ongoing along 131st Street between Howe Road and Cumberland Road. Work will include base repairs, roadway milling, asphalt paving, grooving, and pavement marking installation. Drivers should expect periodic lane restrictions and short-term delays.

Southeastern Parkway & Olio Road Roundabout Improvements

State Road 37 Improvement Project

State Road 37 and 141st Street

The State Road 37 Improvement Project at 141st Street is now substantially complete, and the City celebrated the official ribbon cutting for the new interchange on May 26.

Motorists should expect periodic lane restrictions and intermittent work activity throughout the corridor as contractors complete final punch-list items and remaining project details, including landscaping and minor finishing work.

Drivers are encouraged to continue using caution in the area while crews complete these final activities.

🚗 Regional Construction🛣️

The following projects are managed by partner agencies and may impact Fishers-area drivers.

Hamilton County Resurfacing Project

Hamilton County is expected to continue milling and resurfacing operations next week along Olio Road, progressing north toward the Geist Bridge. In addition to roadway resurfacing, crews will complete ADA-related concrete improvements throughout the corridor.

What Drivers Should Expect

Lane restrictions during active construction
Traffic maintained through the work zone
Occasional delays during milling, paving, and concrete operations

Work is anticipated to be completed within approximately two weeks, weather permitting. Construction schedules are subject to change, and additional updates will be provided as more information becomes available.

EAST CARMEL PEDESTRIAN SAFETY IMPROVEMENTS:

April 1 – early August
As of April 1, extensive work has begun on the east side of Carmel to install raised pedestrian crosswalks within several roundabouts along Hazel Dell Parkway and Gray Road.

Phase 4 (46-day closure, summer break) June 24 – August 10

All raised pedestrian crosswalk installations are set for completion in September, reinforcing Carmel’s ongoing commitment to student and neighborhood safety.
