Upcoming Road Improvements at 116th Street & Allisonville Road

What’ s Happening

The City of Fishers is improving the intersection of 116th Street and Allisonville Road to enhance traffic flow and safety. While the project was originally planned as a roundabout, additional analysis showed the improvements could be achieved through less invasive roadway changes. Construction is expected to begin on or after March 30 and continue through October 2026.

What to Expect

  • The City of Fishers will be improving left-turn lanes in all, replacing sidewalks & ADA ramps, & upgrading traffic signals to improve traffic flow & safety.
  • Business access will remain open
  • Intersections will remain open, but drivers will experience lane shifts, restrictions, & slower travel times, especially during peak hours.
  • Roadway projects are weather-dependent and schedules may change

Project Update (4/08/2026)

Construction is expected to begin the week of April 13 and continue through late October, weather and material availability permitting. Initial work will include construction signage and signal-related activity, followed by intersection improvements, curb and ramp work, sidewalk work, and paving later in the season.

Upcoming Lane Closures at 141st Street & SR 37

Road Construction Update – East 141st Street

  • Date: Friday, 5/8
  • Location: East 141st Street area
  • Work is weather dependent. An update will be provided if work is canceled or delayed.

Lane Closures

  • East 141st Street lane closures are planned for 5/8 and 5/9 weather permitting.
  • Mainline State Road 37 bridge coating work:
    • Northbound SR 37 outside lane closure

Paving Schedule and Traffic Pattern

  • Work will begin with the outside eastbound lane toward Prairie Lakes Circle, then return on the outside westbound lane.
  • Traffic patterns and access points will shift as paving progresses.

Business Access Near Monical’s Strip

  • During paving at the intersection, there will be limited access to the Monical’s business strip.
  • Access will begin from the east side approach
  • Once crews pass the intersection and move closer to the roundabout, traffic will be allowed on the paved eastbound lane up to the Prairie Lakes roundabout.
  • Deliveries and customers should plan ahead and consider access from:
    • Northbound SR 37 off-ramp to 141st Street
    • South on Mundy through the intersection, when available

Prairie Lakes Roundabout Area

  • As paving reaches the Prairie Lakes roundabout, there will be no through traffic going east.
  • Vehicles will be directed north/south to maintain apartment complex access.

Mundy Intersection Access

  • After paving passes the Mundy intersection eastbound, crews will reopen access to north/south Mundy with flaggers.
  • When crews begin paving westbound, there will be no access from Cumberland to the Mundy intersection.
  • Once crews reach the newly paved section, where the roadway widens to three lanes, vehicles will be allowed to travel westbound using the inside lane.

Pedestrian Access and Safety

  • Access to the Monical’s strip will continue to be adjusted as much as possible with flagging.
  • During brief periods when access across the intersection is closed, pedestrians may:
    • Walk along the paths to 141st Circle and cross there, or
    • Walk to the Prairie Lakes roundabout and cross there
  • Do not cross over the new asphalt. The surface is sticky, and heavy equipment will be moving through the work zone.
  • Gradex flaggers will be stationed on both sides to help direct vehicles and pedestrians.

What to Expect

Crews and flaggers will continue monitoring traffic and helping customers, deliveries, pedestrians, and businesses maintain access as safely as possible.

Expect delays, slower traffic, and changing access routes throughout the day.

Traffic will be maintained, but motorists may experience delays. Please use caution when traveling through the area and allow extra time or seek alternate routes when possible.

Drivers should expect intermittent restrictions and delays during this work. Additional details and timing will be shared as that information becomes available.

Indiana Safe Zones

The Safe Zones speed control program remains active in the Clear Path construction zone. This program uses automated systems to monitor speeds in specified work zones. The goal of the program is to keep workers, drivers, and their passengers safe by reducing excessive speeding in work zones. It’s important to slow down in construction zones and drive without distractions. Learn more about Safe
Zones at SafeZonesIN.com
