Road Notice Updates for the Week of August 17

All work is weather-dependent and subject to change. This update highlights major closures and traffic impacts, but may not include every Department of Public Works project.

🚧 136th Street Widening – Southeastern Parkway and Prairie Baptist Road

Construction is underway on the Southeastern Parkway and Olio Road roundabout to improve safety and traffic flow at one of the region’s busiest intersections. 

Currently, the roundabout remains open with no lane restrictions through early August. Olio Road is reduced to one lane southbound.  

Beginning in early August, drivers should expect lane restrictions, including Olio Road reduced to one lane in each direction and closure of the “5th leg” of the roundabout. 

Detour and traffic maps for Phase 2 will be shared before that phase begins in October. Details: fishersin.gov/olio

Road Improvements at 116th St & Allisonville Rd

Fishers Crossing Access Closure

As of August 5, the west leg of Fishers Crossing Blvd at Allisonville Road has been closed for approximately three weeks, weather permitting.

During the closure, motorists will not be able to enter or exit the Fishers Crossing Shopping Center area at this connection to Allisonville Road. Drivers should use an alternate entrance and follow posted signage.

Additionally, sidewalks within the project area are closed.

This closure is necessary to support ongoing construction for the 116th Street and Allisonville Road Improvement Project. Crews are currently reconstructing the west side of Allisonville Road at Fishers Crossing Drive as part of this work.

Current Construction Activity

While construction activity may not always be visible from every part of the project area, the contractor continues to work throughout the project limits in several locations at once. Current work includes:

• Replacing driveway approaches
• Painting streetlights
• Installing temporary traffic signals
• Reconstructing the roadway on the west side of Allisonville Road at Fishers Crossing Drive

Drivers may see crews and equipment shifting between different areas of the project as this work progresses.

As of Thursday, July 16, crews implemented the next major traffic shift as construction continues at the 116th Street and Allisonville Road intersection.

What to Expect

• The outside lanes at the intersection will be closed.
• Traffic will be shifted to the inside through lanes and designated turn lanes.
• All businesses will remain open and accessible throughout construction.
• This traffic pattern is expected to remain in place through early October, weather permitting.

Motorists are encouraged to slow down, use caution, follow posted signage, and allow extra travel time when traveling through the area.

Cumberland Road Utility Work – Duke Project

Lane restrictions continue between 106th Street and 116th Street from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

ATT Utility Work

ATT will be installing fiber throughout the following neighborhods: Beaver Ridge, Pine Bluff Overlook, Bradford Ridge, Walnut Creek, Delaware Pointe, Summerfield, Delaware Crossing. Work will be begin in the next week and will be conducted in utility easements behind the sidewalk.

🛜Upcoming Brightspeed Fiber Installation

Brightspeed will be working on fiber installation work next week in the following neighborhoods:

• The Boulders
• Reserve at Steeplechase
• Sanctuary at Steeplechase
• Oakhurst

Residents may notice door hangers being distributed and utility locate flags appearing in advance of construction. These are part of the preparation process before work begins. 🚦 96th Street & Cyntheanne Road is now OPEN!

The intersection is fully operational and open to traffic in all directions.

Drivers may still see crews in the area completing occasional final punch-list items, so please continue to use caution when traveling through the intersection.

131st and Brooks School Road Roundabout

A new roundabout will be constructed at the intersection of 131st Street and Brooks School Road. Drivers can expect periodic lane restrictions in the current utility relocation phase.

USA Parkway Widening Project (North of 106th Street)

Motorists should expect lane restrictions on USA Parkway north of 106th Street as construction begins on the USA Parkway Widening Project. Lane restrictions are expected to remain in place through October, weather permitting.

Work will include roadway widening, new curb improvements, trail construction, and pavement resurfacing. Traffic will be maintained throughout construction, and access to businesses and driveways will remain open. Motorists should expect periodic traffic shifts, reduced speeds, and occasional delays while crews work.

The project is anticipated to reach substantial completion in mid-October, with final restoration and punch list work continuing into November.

Please slow down, watch for construction crews, and allow extra travel time when traveling through the area. As always, schedules are weather dependent and subject to change.

Resurfacing Project

During the week of August 17:

The contractor will be completing concrete operations in Fawnsbrook neighborhood ahead of milling and paving as well as begnning work on Westmoreland Dr. in the Somerset neighborhood. More details will be provided in the future regarding upcoming operations in the Weaver Neighborhoods.

Upcoming work includes milling and base repair on 96th Street from Carroll Road to Olio Road. All work is weather dependant.

Homeowners will be notified via door hangers prior to any curb reconstruction near their home. After ADA ramp and curb reconstruction is completed, those areas will be restored with topsoil and seed. It is the responsibility of the homeowner to water the seed for the seed to germinate. Following concrete operations contractors will begin performing asphalt road resurfacing and additional notices will be provided. Residents will also be notified via street signage for street parking restrictions.

State Road 37 Improvement Project

State Road 37 and 141st Street

The State Road 37 Improvement Project at 141st Street is now substantially complete, and the City celebrated the official ribbon cutting for the new interchange on May 26. The speed limit signs will be brought back up to 55 MPH on Friday, August 14.

Hamilton County Highway Department

LANE RESTRICTIONS – CUMBERLAND ROAD – BRIDGE 164 OVER MUD CREEK

Please be advised, on Thursday, August 6, 2026, drivers should expect daily lane restrictions on Cumberland Road, south of 116^th Street, for bridge preservation work. The expected completion date for this project is Friday, August 21, 2026. Please use extreme caution while driving through the construction zone. Drivers are encouraged to be vigilant and watch for flaggers in the area.
