Warning: if you read this while hungry, you might find yourself craving a cheeseburger by the end. Don’t say we didn’t tell you!
When I can’t decide what I want to eat, a cheeseburger is my go-to. It’s on the menu at most places and, in my opinion, it’s a good way to size up the food at a restaurant. It’s an American staple, after all.
In celebration of National Cheeseburger Day on Sept. 18, here is a list of some of the most popular places to get a cheeseburger in Fishers.
101 Beer Kitchen
Beer and burgers pair well together, so it’s no surprise 101 Beer Kitchen is popular for the beverage in its namesake (plus the juicy burgers). You can’t go wrong with the 101 Burger, an angus ground beef patty topped with bacon, cheddar cheese, horseradish mayo for some kick, and lettuce, tomato and pickles on a brioche bun.
Yelper Sigrid W. says “The burger, was big and juicy, with nice big slices of bacon and an interesting horseradish mayo, which tied it all together. A delicious mess to eat. I feel a burger isn’t done right unless it makes a huge mess with juices dripping and stuff falling off… this is that kind of burger.”
Chatham Tap
Sometimes you want to kick it up a notch and take your cheeseburger to the next level. Chatham Tap Fishers serves the basic burger in addition to crazy creations like the Meaty Kuzola, a half-pound angus beef patty topped with marinara, bacon, pepperoni, sausage and mozzarella cheese, or the Heartstopper, featuring two angus beef patties topped with bacon, fried egg, sautéed mushrooms and onions plus cheddar, Muenster and Swiss cheeses. Whew! You’re definitely going to need a nap after that one.
Yelper Karen M. says “Stopped in here on our way to IKEA……BEST burger I’ve ever had! No joke!”
Four Day Ray Brewing
I had a friend rave about the Four Day Ray cheeseburger for months, and once I tried it, I understood why. It’s a classic with two beef patties, double American cheese (because, why not?) and housemade Bomba sauce on a brioche bun. If you’re feeling extra hungry, order the Bacon BBQ burger with two beef patties, sharp cheddar, hickory smoked bacon, chipotle molasses BBQ and beer battered onion rings. Go big or go home.
Yelper Jon W. says “The cheeseburger was a surprise. Cooked to perfection, juicy, and can’t wait to order another one.”

HC Tavern + Kitchen
Located at the Fishers District, HC Tavern + Kitchen’s take on a burger is more elevated but doesn’t skimp on quality or taste. The steak burger features thin-pressed USDA prime double patties with applewood smoked bacon, American cheese and 1000 Island on a potato bun. My mouth is watering just thinking about it.
Yelper Rebecca M. says “I’m completely blown away by this place in the best way possible. I went here 3 days ago and I STILL can’t stop talking about it.”

Mashcraft Fishers
MashCraft is known for its beer selection, but don’t forget the burger offerings. Sure, you could go with the Pub Burger with cheddar on a Hawaiian bun, but why not try something more adventurous? Introducing the Not Yo’ Mama Burger, an angus beef blend with bacon, cheddar cheese and jalapeno, topped with gouda and garlic aioli. Yes, please!
Yelper Miles J. says “Great beer and impressive food for a microbrewery. Their chips are awesome. The burgers, tacos, and flat breads are all great.”

Sahm’s Bar & Grill
Why have one cheese on your burger when you can have multiple? The Ultimate Cheeseburger at Sahm’s features three: Muenster, American and mozzarella, plus bacon for added measure. Or, try the Clint Eastwood with BBQ sauce, bacon, cheddar, mozzarella and fried onions. The messiest burgers are often the most delicious. Bring on the napkins!
Yelper Bill D. says “…the incredible double cheeseburger that I had there. Just wanted to take a nap after this meal! This is, without a doubt, one of the best cheeseburgers I’ve ever had! Cooked perfectly, fresh lettuce, tomato, onions and pickles. You don’t even need to add any condiments! The burger can stand by itself!”

Wolfies Grill
Choose from two Wolfies Grill location: 96th Street in Fishers and Geist. Guests love the Nyla’s Black & Blue Burger with homemade blue cheese, bacon and blackened seasoning. Spice it up with the Jalapeno Queso Baja Burger, served with – you guessed it – jalapenos, white queso, pepper jack, avocado and sriracha sour cream. If you can’t take the heat, don’t order this burger.
Yelper Sandy Z. says “Great place to grab a burger and set outside, on the deck overlooking Geist Reservoir. So relaxing!”
