Today, the Fishers Event Center, an ultra-modern, 7,500-seat entertainment venue, will officially open its doors for its first show featuring country band Turnpike Troubadours at 6 p.m. The Fishers Event Center is situated on a sprawling 53-acre plot expanding upon the popular 18-acre lifestyle development Fishers District, and will host everything from concerts, entertainment acts to basketball games while serving as a community-focused venue for local athletes to compete, graduation ceremonies and more.
In its final weeks, the building has been transformed from an active construction site into an extraordinary venue, with finishing touches bringing every space to life. Every detail of the event center has been carefully considered to create an exceptional guest experience. From the state-of-the-art sound and lighting systems to the thoughtfully designed seating arrangements, every element is crafted to ensure comfort and enhance the overall atmosphere. Behind the scenes, cutting-edge technology supports seamless operations, while front-facing features, such as elevated food and beverage options, reflect a commitment to quality and innovation. This attention to detail is evident in every corner of the building, delivering a venue that truly stands apart.
“We are thrilled to officially open the doors to this incredible venue and welcome our community to experience all it has to offer,” said Fishers Event Center General Manager Mitch List. “Today marks the culmination of years of planning, hard work, and dedication from countless individuals. This is more than just a building, it’s a space designed to bring people together, create unforgettable memories, and set a new standard for entertainment in our region.”
“This is an important moment in Fishers history,” said Fishers Mayor Scott Fadness. “The Fishers Event Center will be the epicenter of entertainment and experience in our community, where neighbors, visitors, and friends come together to make lifelong memories. And we look forward to showing the world what we already know: Fishers is the best place to live, work, and play.”

LOCALLY ROOTED
The experiences will be big, but the foundation of the new venue is locally rooted boasting a team with deep Indiana ties and a commitment to community engagement. A variety of Fishers Event Center team members are Indianapolis area natives, Fishers area residents or alumni of area universities. Volunteer initiatives among staff have included work alongside Fishers Parks to upgrade the community garden with painting and planting, participation at SPARK!Fishers, presence at multiple Fishers Farmers Markets as Fishers Event Center ambassadors, volunteering at the Geist Half Marathon, and more. Indianapolis-based design agency Section 127 designed the Fishers Event Center logo and visual identity, led by a group of Fishers residents.
SUSTAINABILITY INITIATIVES
A variety of sustainability initiatives are already in place, including a building design that results in a total energy cost savings of 27.2% as compared to energy code minimums, and energy conservation measures such as increased roof and wall insulation, high efficiency interior lighting and more. Cutting-edge reverse osmosis technology on the venue’s ice floor helps enhance the water quality, creating a harder, faster surface with less snow build-up, and resulting in reduced maintenance and energy savings due to higher ice surface temperatures. The use of Zamboni’s FastIce and Level-Ice technologies further enhances efficiency. Food and beverage vendor initiatives also include:
- 90% of concession vessels are biodegradable and made from an Eco-Friendly material; the other 10% are made from recycled plastics. All napkins will be made from recycled materials. Packaged soda products come from Coca Cola, and are made using recycled plastic materials.
- 98% of the disposables in catering and suites will either come from World Centric or VerTerra. These products are all sustainable and compostable. Ball Cup Company will be used to provide the recyclable aluminum draft beer cups and mixed cocktail cups to be used at all bars. The venue is also partnering with Tossware, which incorporates recycled plastic into all of its products, to produce the batch cocktail carafes and cups, as well as Churchill Container which is making the custom cocktail cup and has several sustainability programs.
- Vendors including Indiana Soybean Alliance, Fischer Farms and Just Desserts Indianapolis also have a variety of their own sustainability initiatives.
