Black History Month

Total Solar Eclipse

Save the date – the Total Solar Eclipse is happening on Monday, April 8! Fishers and Hamilton County are right in the path of totality, and Indiana is bracing for hundreds of thousands of visitors during this weekend. The Eclipse will take place on the last day of Hamilton Southeastern Schools’ spring break, so you may want to consider returning home on or before Saturday, April 6 as traffic will be heavy.

Get your eclipse-viewing glasses by participating in Hamilton East Public Library’s Winter Reading Program. We encourage residents to watch the Eclipse from their homes, and please be aware that if you do travel, you are at risk of extended public safety response times in the instance of an emergency on this day. Find safety tips and more info here.

Heart Hike

Taking place on Saturday, February 10 from 9 to 11 a.m., Heart Hike is presented by Fishers’ Parks at Ritchey Woods. During your short, self-led hike, look for images of hearts that are naturally occurring in nature placed along the walking trails. Learn more at playfishers.com.

Fishers Fire Department Awards Ceremony

Fishers Fire and Emergency Services (FFES) is pleased to announce its upcoming annual Awards Ceremony, an event dedicated to honoring the bravery, dedication, and outstanding service of our firefighters, paramedics, public safety educators and staff.

This distinguished ceremony will take place on Saturday, February 17, 2024, at Heartland Church located at 14900 E. 126th Street, Fishers, IN 46037, starting at 3:30pm. We extend a warm invitation to the general public to join us in recognizing the exceptional individuals who have gone above and beyond the call of duty to ensure the safety and well-being of our community.

Adults and children ages 7-12 are invited to enjoy a night of fun with dancing, photo opps, light refreshments, and more activities at this semi-formal event! Spring Formal will run from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday, March 2, at the Fishers Parks HQ (8100 E. 106th St., Fishers). All attendees (children and parents/guardians) must register at playfishers.com.

Winter Ecotherapy

Winter can be a tough time to really embrace spending time outdoors and focus on mental health.  Check out some of our favorite ways to get outside this winter and experience some ecotherapy here.

Summer Camp Registration Now Open for Residents

Fishers Parks offers camps for children ages 5+ to explore their interests, make friends, and shake their summer break boredom. Registration for 2024 Summer Camp programs is currently open for Fishers residents. Register for the camps at playfishers.com/SummerCamp.

Register for the Geist Half Marathon, 10K and 5K

Registration for the 2024 Geist Half Marathon, 10K and 5K is officially open! This family-friendly community tradition returns on Saturday, September 14 with a new after-party and VIP experience and the return of the popular 10K race. All participants receive a race shirt and finisher medal. Register now at geisthalf.com.

Snow Fight

Fishers DPW works hard to keep our roads safe during winter weather events. You can help the Fishers Snow Fight team before a snowstorm by moving parked cars and basketball goals from streets, shoveling snow away from fire hydrants, and clearing storm drains of leaves, snow, ice, and other debris. Don’t forget to give snowplows extra room on the roads during a snow event. Learn more at fishers.in.us/snow.

Save the Date: Disability Awareness Month

March is National Disability Awareness Month, and the Fishers Advisory Committee on Disability will celebrate with special events and opportunities to serve as an ally for disability inclusion. Learn more at FishersIN.gov/DisabilityAwareness.
