Fishers Lū’au at Geist Waterfront Park

Join Fishers Parks for the inaugural Fishers Lū’au! Running from 6 to 9 p.m. Saturday, June 8, this event will showcase aspects of an authentic Polynesian Lū’au, from food to music to live entertainment and more. Admission to the park and event is free. No registration or RSVP required. Find more details of fun, planned activities here.

Island Dancing Show + Fire Dance Finale (8 to 9 p.m.)

Take a seat near the stage to watch an island dancing show and fire dance finale! This group performance of 7-8 professional Polynesian performers includes fun audience participation, costume changes, featured dances from the islands, and more!

Fishers City Hall and Arts Center: A Building for the People

The Fishers Municipal Center, opening this month at 1 Municipal Drive, is a vibrant hub for residents and visitors of Fishers, encompassing the new City Hall and the vibrancy of the Fishers Art Center. Designed with accessibility in mind, it features an expansive pedestrian breezeway that invites community members to explore and connect, a versatile theater for public meetings, events, and performances, and municipal offices. In partnership with the Indianapolis Art Center, the Fishers Art Center is poised to become a cultural beacon, offering art classes for all ages, engaging summer camps, unique gallery exhibitions, and more.

Geist Waterfront Park Open for Swim Season

Geist Waterfront Park is officially open for swim season! The 70-acre waterfront park in east Fishers features beach and water access to Geist Reservoir, non-motorized boat launch and dock access for kayaks and canoes, walking trails, playground, and public gathering amenities.

Park access is open to all during nonpeak hours. During peak hours (generally Friday, Saturday, and Sunday afternoons), admission is free for Fishers residents and $25 per vehicle for non-residents. It’s now easier than ever for residents to access the park – just show your government-issued ID at the entrance, no Smart Pass needed! Geist Waterfront Park is opened daily dawn to dusk and a lifeguard is on duty 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. during swim season. Swim season runs from now through September 2. Seize the Summer #AroundFishers

June in Fishers calls for outdoor adventures! Soak up the sun at the Geist Waterfront Park, gear up for a kayak trip down the White River, stomp in the creek at Flat Fork Creek Park, or take a stroll down the scenic Nickel Plate Trail. Spark!Fishers Returns June 24-29!

Fishers Parks’ annual, weeklong Spark!Fishers festival, presented by Meijer, will take over downtown Fishers the last full week of June, running from Monday, June 24, through Saturday, June 29.

Get together with your community for the annual Spark!Fishers 5K race and 1-Mile Walk/Run, Spark!Fishers Car & Art Show, free concerts on Tuesday night and Friday night, with drone and fireworks shows, and Saturday’s Spark!Fishers Street Festival – the biggest day of the week – with a parade, multiple stages of live music, food, drink, and artisan vendors, art displays, kids and teen zones, and so much more! Cul De Sac Drills with Fishers Fire Department

Fishers Fire Department hosts Cul-de-sac drills in local neighborhoods every summer. Firefighters will pull out the hose, spray water, and give little and big kids alike an opportunity to handle the hose line or just run through the spray. NPD Amphitheater Concerts

The free concert series includes performances at the Nickel Plate District Amphitheater on Tuesday evenings starting on June 4.

Adopt-a-Storm Drain

Help improve our water quality and reduce flood risks by adopting a storm drain. Storm drains are essential for managing rainfall and snowmelt, preventing pollutants from entering our streams, and reducing localized flooding.

The Adopt-A-Storm Drain program invites volunteers to keep these crucial drains clear. By ensuring only rain goes down the drain, you protect our waterways and community.

Your Role as a Participant:

  • Inspect drains monthly and before heavy rains
  • Remove leaves, trash, and debris
  • Track your volunteer hours

Mayor’s Youth Academy Applications Open

In partnership with the City of Fishers, Hamilton Southeastern Schools, and the Eman schools, the Mayor’s Youth Academy offers the opportunity to build community awareness, provide hands-on learning opportunities that enhance curriculum, and inspire future careers in the public sector. Registration for the Fishers Mayor’s Youth Academy is open through June 28. 
 
The Fishers Mayor’s Youth Academy is a year-long experience provided by the City of Fishers for high school juniors and seniors that live in and or attend school in Fishers with a GPA of at least 3.0 to be eligible for the program. Register at fishersin.gov/MYA

Explore other youth academies like the Fishers Police Department Teen Academy and the Fishers Health Department Teen Public Health Academy. Registration is free and open for all programs at FishersIN.gov/CitizenAcademies.

Fishers Farmers Market Every Saturday

The Fishers Farmers Market’s season runs through Saturday, September 28. Each market is held from 8 a.m. to noon on Saturdays during this period at the Nickel Plate District Amphitheater. Vendors offer fresh produce, baked goods, specialty food items, meats, coffee, honey, plants, and more. Check out a list of vendors here.

Road Construction Updates

96th Street & Allisonville Road Roundabout 

Construction is underway on a new, two-lane roundabout to replace the current Michigan Left intersection at 96th Street and Allisonville Road, adjacent to the new River Place development and site of the future White River Park. The roundabout is anticipated to be completed by the end of 2024. This project is in conjunction with the City’s Allisonville Road corridor revitalization, which features road and walkability improvements, enhanced greenspace, and new development.
