Fishers Event Center Opens this Month!

The Fishers Event Center opens THIS month! As we count down the days, we are thrilled to invite Fishers residents to join in on the action by securing season tickets for Indy Fuel Hockey, Indy Ignite Volleyball, and Fishers Freight Indoor Football games! Purchase tickets to be front and center of all the action at FishersEventCenter.com.

The 7,500-seat venue, located on a 53-acre plot in the expanded Fishers District, will host concerts, entertainment acts, sports events, and community activities.

Fishers Veterans Day Ceremony

On Monday, November 11 at 11 a.m., the City of Fishers and Fishers Armed Services Commission invites residents to a Veterans Day Ceremony honoring our local heroes and their families. Join us in the City Hall Theater (1 Municipal Drive) for the ceremony with speaker, Doug Melville, with a book signing after the event, sponsored by the Hamilton County Community Foundation. Fishers Safe Streets & Trails Plan

The City of Fishers is committed to keeping its roadways and trails safe for all users, including motorists, pedestrians, and cyclists. Share your feedback through an online survey, open through November 8, 2024. With this survey, you’ll have the opportunity to identify specific locations in the community where road safety could be improved. Take the survey at FishersIN.gov/TravelSafe.

Citywide Trash Service Update

All households in Fishers city limits will transition to Republic Services for all trash and recycling collection beginning January 13, 2025. Monthly service fees will be reflected in residents’ January Fishers Utilities billing statement. Information on routes and container delivery will be released in December 2024. No action is required at this time for current Republic or Waste Management customers for this change. For ongoing updates and details, please visit FishersIN.gov/Trash.

Early Voting and Election Day

Hamilton County offers early voting at Billericay Park (12690 Promise Rd.) and Holland Park (1 Park Dr.) on the following dates. Find more info at HamiltonCounty.IN.gov.  

  • Friday, Nov. 1 and Saturday, Nov. 2: 10 a.m. – 3 p.m. 

City of Fishers offices will continue to be open on Election Day, which falls on Tuesday, November 5.

Neighborhood Matching Grants Now Open

The City of Fishers is now accepting applications for 2025 Neighborhood Vibrancy Grant program. Last year, the city awarded nearly $750K to 46 neighborhoods across the city. HOA groups are encouraged to apply as soon as possible, as applications will be accepted until funds are depleted. Apply now at FishersIN.gov/Grants.

Registration Open for Spring City Government Academy

Fishers residents can go behind the scenes of local government and hear from staff, tour City facilities and engage in the collaborative city governing process in the City of Fishers’ City Government Academy (CGA). At the end of the 3-month course, participants will have a greater understanding of how the Fishers government works. The academy is free and open to Fishers residents who are ages 18+.   • Shop Fishers beginning on Small Business Saturday (November 30)
    • Explore and discover local shops and restaurants that make our community special. Join the celebration and support our city’s small businesses this holiday season! Learn more at FishersIN.gov/ShopFishers
  • Santa’s Mailbox beginning November 29
    • Drop off your letters to Santa in the special mailboxes located on the Nickel Plate Trail and Ambassador House. Include your address and you’ll receive a reply from St. Nick! Can’t drop off in person? Email Santa through Friday, December 20 at santa@fishers.in.us. Learn more at FishersParks.com
  • NPT Night Lights
    • Through December, check out the free light display open daily at dusk along the downtown portion of the Nickel Plate Trail. Enjoy live music and food trucks along the trail December 8 through 14 from 5 to 9 p.m. See details at FishersParks.com.  
  • Cookies with Characters (December 7, 8, 14, and 15)
    • Fishers Parks hosts a unique character experience complete with games, crafts, cookie decorating, and more. Registration is required and can be done online at FishersParks.com
