Safety Day
Taking place on Saturday, September 7 from 8 a.m. to noon in conjunction with the Fishers Farmers Market, Safety Day welcomes families of all ages for live entertainment and demonstrations, and opportunities to connect with local organizations such as the Fishers Fire Department and Fishers Police Department.
- Participate in the Fishers Police Department Bike Rodeo (waivers required)
- Tour fire trucks
- Visit the Safety Trailer and learn about fire safety
- Learn to recognize unfamiliar hazards in bedrooms of teenagers’ by exploring the Hidden in Plain Sight trailer.
- Learn about life & fire safety with The Kasey Program
- Performances by HIJH and FCJH Choirs as well as FJH Orchestra
- Donate blood
- Watch firefighters complete a rope rescue demonstration
Fishers Arts Council Harvest Fest
Enjoy a beautiful Sunday afternoon on September 8 at Heritage Park at White River in Fishers from 12 – 5p.m. for Harvest Fest! Browse and shop the creations of local artists and artisans, enjoy live music, walk the gardens and support Fishers-serving nonprofits! Fishers Farmers Market Every Saturday
The Fishers Farmers Market’s season runs through Saturday, September 28. Each market is held from 8 a.m. to noon on Saturdays during this period at the Nickel Plate District Amphitheater. Vendors offer fresh produce, baked goods, specialty food items, meats, coffee, honey, plants, and more. Check out a list of vendors here.

City Recycling Day
The City of Fishers will host its free City Recycling Day on Saturday, September 14 from 8 a.m. – 1 p.m. at Billericay Park (12690 Promise Road). Residents are invited to recycle electronics, household items, and household hazardous wastes. On-site paper recycling and off-site confidential document shredding are also available. Document shredding is completed off-site by Share’s Inc., a certified confidential document shredding company. Find more details about accepted items here.
Register for the Geist 5K, 10K or Half Marathon
Enjoy the beautiful waterfront scenery of Geist Reservoir with the family-friendly Geist Half Race Series presented by Meijer. This annual tradition returns September 14 with a walker-friendly course complete with live music, community support, and an all-ages after party! Register at GeistHalf.com.
Glow in the Park
Get ready to glow! Black lights, fog machines, and lasers light up the night as you enjoy glow-in-the-dark fun in at the Nickel Plate District Amphitheater. Live DJs, neon splash zones, foam cannon, a graffiti wall, food trucks, and more make this event an annual favorite.

Registration Open for Fishers Art Center Classes
The Fishers Art Center, located in the Fishers Municipal Center at 1 Municipal Drive, offers art classes and programs for all ages, engaging summer camps, unique gallery exhibitions, and more. Registration is open for fall semester classes for children and adults, as well as various Make It Take It classes for adults. Learn more at FishersArtCenter.org.
Fishers Event Center Opening Series Tickets On Sale Now
Tickets are available for upcoming shows at the Fishers Event Center, the largest mid-size event center in the Indianapolis region. Get tickets now for:

2025 Budget for City of Fishers
Mayor Scott Fadness presents a fiscally conservative, balanced budget for 2025. Learn more at FishersIN.gov/Budget.
- 4th straight year of flat or reduced tax rate while investing in major amenities such as the Fishers Event Center, Fishers Community Center at Johnson Farm, and Fishers Municipal Center (City Hall & Fishers Art Center)
- Continued funding in the neighborhood vibrancy grant and teacher innovation grant funds
- Operational funding for the launch of Fishers Community Center at Johnson Farm in Fall 2025 and expansion of the Fishers AgriPark
- Continued investment in our road infrastructure: 116th and Allisonville intersection, Nickel Plate Trail Bridge over 96th Street, 136th Street widening, street resurfacing
- Lower employee healthcare costs through partnership with Community Health Network and preventative health programs
- Sewer rate increase, only the second increase in 27 years to bring revenue and operational support to current demand.
Residents are invited to join City Council Meetings to hear about the budget. The next meeting is on Monday, September 9 at 7 p.m. in the theater at Fishers City Hall (1 Municipal Drive). Road Construction Updates
96th Street & Allisonville Road Roundabout
Construction is underway on a new, two-lane roundabout to replace the current Michigan Left intersection at 96th Street and Allisonville Road, adjacent to the new River Place development and site of the future White River Park. The roundabout is anticipated to be completed by the end of 2024. This project is in conjunction with the City’s Allisonville Road corridor revitalization, which features road and walkability improvements, enhanced greenspace, and new development.
